Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspision love actually is all around.
I hope everyone of you has a Christmas filled with joy, hope, family, love, and well, good food. Let's celebrate our wonderful God so the whole world knows the truth!

Psalm 68:19
"Praise the Lord, who is our God and Savior. He daily bears our burdens." I read this before I feel asleep last night, and what a beautiful promise to rest (literally) on. After a super stressful day (or two) and way too much to do in the next 24 hours, this comforted me abundantly. While I don't consider my own stupidity (13 homemade gifts, seriously?!?!?) a big burden (as compared to suffering, persecution, poverty...) it's still what's burying me daily and taking away my joy from what this wonderful season represents. This God, that loved us so much, surrendered all His glory temporarily to come down and live among us, and bear our burdens. Stress, guilt, anger, judments, sin, death. To not be held down by all we were bound to is certainly a reason to rejoice. So as Christmas is now less than a week away (!), don't let all the burdens of your day weigh you down. Rest on the comforts of this promise from our wonderful God and Savior!

And so it begins...
Morgen, this blog is ridiculous. That "tree" is ridiculous. The lack of comments is ridiculous. It is all so ridiculous, that the word ridiculous is ridiculous. And i didnt watch the Prince Caspian trailer because i have no interest in the movie. However...if you were to go one year without mentioning friends... perhaps i would read all the books....~Parker
PARKER! Let the bet begin! Terms: I will go one year without mentioning or quoting Friends in your presence. I am allowed 5 slips, and we will make Farah the Commissioner because, well, she's so good at it. If I win, and oh, I will win, you have to read all 7 books in "The Chronicles of Narnia" Series. (By the way, I can't believe you haven't read these books. It's a shame, really.) The bet will officially begin when we meet, discuss the full and binding terms, and shake on it. Let all readers of this blog be witness that on this, the 13th of December, the 2007th Year of our Lord, the bet begins!

Now that's just cool.
"Venice's Murano Island—renowned throughout the world for its quality glasswork—is home to the tallest glass tree in the world. Sculpted by master glass blower Simone Cenedese, the artistic Christmas tree is a modern reflection of the holiday season." (Picture thanks to MSN).In other news, either no one comments anymore, or you all didn't click on the video link to the Prince Caspian trailer. People, it looks amazing, so go back to my last blog and watch. And for those of you that have been to Haiti, doesn't Lucy look like Abby Leib?!?!?

Pirate Lore
I am at home, with Pirates III in my hand, and anger in my heart.
Since no one understood the stinkin' movies without all the backstory (you know, everything that WASN'T in the movie...) they added a list of questions moviegoers had regarding said film. I was quite excited because they finally choose to let us in on their secrets. Question #2 is as follows:
Since Will honored his destiny on the Flying Dutchman, in 10 years does he get to return to land for good, thereby freeing his father and crew?
Every 10 years, Will may step on land for one day. He is bound to the Flying Dutchman forever.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME! The only thing that eased my pirate soul was when Ruth said that he would be freed after 10 years. Now this?!?!?!? Darn you, Disney!

Personalize Me...
According to Personal DNA, I am an Advocating Creator. (There's this really cool color chart that describes your personality, but blogger won't seem to allow it here...boo.) It's pretty dang accurate too, just a few things that I didn't agree with, but it was because of the testing questions (Example: Do you believe luck guides you, or you yourself do? Answer: Ummm, not me, God. But he's not "luck", soooo, what's the correct answer here???) But everyone should go take it, it's super fun. It's pretty crazy to read your results, because I usually don't see such an accurate description of myself anywhere. So, go for it! Find it here! Then let me know what you are!
Oh man, the first page asks basics like age, zip code, that sort of thing. Then it asks this:
What is your sex?
-Male
-Female
-Other
Other?!?!? Am I missing something here?
